We are just wrapping up blueberry harvest on our second year plants and the variety called Pink Lemonade was a big hit! But what should we call them, "Pinkberries"? since calling them blueberries when they are pink doesn't really seem right. This is a cross of a rabbiteye with a high bush blueberry and certainly is a novelty, but the production and flavor appears to be awesome! Because this is our first year of harvest and our patch is only about 1/4 acre, we had friends over for U-pick as our only marketing this year. The pink ones were the big hit among everyone with kids and almost everyone who came by. They are the second-to-last of our 5 varieties of Southern Highbush to ripen, before Southmoon, but after everything else. There is still about 1 more week of picking.
