These rascals are sneeky ! A trained eye can spot these elusive casings .Once you've seen them , you know what your looking for.
While winter pruning there are so many things to look for, and for me this is one of them. The more casings you destroy now , the less BT you will be spraying in the spring. They peel off kinda like a scab .
At some point I"ll try to post a pic momma moth.

Thanks for the pictures!

I've been seeing these a lot too, and I make sure to pull them off whenever I spot one. I've removed maybe a couple dozen so far. Seems a lot easier than breaking up the nests and spraying later in the season. I try to smush them in my hand and throw them down in the middle of the row or at the border of the field. Hopefully that is enough to keep them from forming nests.
