Hi there, everyone -

Does anyone have experience with Galarina? Considering it for a new row of PYO. Any thoughts are appreciated, but I'm especially interested in ripening date(s) for plantings in climates similar to southern WI (5a). Thanks in advance!

Hi Liz,

We have some growing in our test orchard, but they are just 2 years old. We got our scions from Palatine Fruit and Roses in Niagara-On-The-Lake in Ontario (likely zone 6, maybe 7?), and if you can get ahold of Rene Schmidt there, he would be able to give you better insights; the phone number is 905-468-8627, and this is their website [palatineroses.com] . He spoke very highly of them, I'm looking forward to getting some fruit!

Hi Liz! We have grown it for many years. Stores very well, sweet juicy apple with mild flavor - not great in my opinion but many customers are happy with it. Very prone to overcropping. Pretty healthy trees and fairly reliable annual cropper. Ripens mid October for us usually 10/8-10/5, after Winecrisp and Sundance but before Goldrush if that helps you.
