I just received in the mail scionwood. It was mailed 02/28 from New York. Upon opening, I realized there was frost on the ends and the paper towel it was wrapped in was frozen. Worst case scenario it has been frozen 4 days. I placed it in the refrigerator to allow a slow thaw. Do I need to be concerned it has been damaged so it will not take if I go ahead and use when grafting??? Any suggestiby David Mobley - Grafting

I am confused and looking for assistance on the "horsetail" additive for the silica tea. I am in NE Missouri and horsetail for us is an annual weed and looks nothing like the pictures I have seen of the horsetail used for tea. Is the horsetail I need for the tea something I can buy seeds for, and if so, what is the botanical name of the horsetail I need for the tea? I appreciate the heby David Mobley - Spray Nuance

I would love to see pictures from others showing their orchards at different stages. Specifically, I would like to see what others are doing between rows and also understory development at different times of the year. Does anyone know if there are any sites were this info. could be seen?by David Mobley - Ecosystem Connections
I live in Missouri and my oldest trees in my orchard are 4 years old. I like yarrow because it does spread and can handle competing grasses. I have also planted worm wood which is a large sage type plant, lots of comfrey, horse radish and rue. Other than the comfrey, I started everything by seed finding it much more economical. I am going to work on adding daffodils, borage and rhubarb this neby David Mobley - Understory Management
Last spring I tried my hand at grafting 30 different varities. I thought I had protected them by planting them in a fenced enclosure, but noticed a few have bark damage from a rabbitt or rabbitts. I transplanted them into the orchard today, and wondered the best way of trying to help them heal. What about kaolin clay over the damaged area? Or, should I paint grafting wax over the damaged areaby David Mobley - Mammalian Tales
