Karen, W. WA: your sister Becky has now planted 2 acres of semi dwarf and standards- as well as a few dwarfs of about 20 varieties. Newer land off Sprighetti Rd. I think I began planting about the same time as you folks across the sound. Originally 1450 trees 3x10 on Bud 9, 80 varieties, I grafted these in 2009. I do a lot of 1/8" and smaller too. tongue is easy with the pointy Tina 606. Older wood is also 100% I just pick off the flower buds (or not). I've made little Bonsai trees on stronger stock-already well branched. 2000ppm IBA may be helpful-I always use it Bench grafting. 3000 trees/ year 98.7% success. I think Pixiecrunch TM must have an anti-propagation gene spliced in. Now have 50by Gil Schieber - Grafting

On the heels of a eulogy, it is and has been an important addition to my understanding of the community I embrace. The time I spend here is usually snippets in winter. Are there never enough days in the life of a Horticulturist to know the magic of nature? Michael certainly had a sense of the awe, the science of this beautiful art we call orcharding.
